Communion or rather, the Holy Communion is a practice that is meant to be observed over and over throughout the life of a person who is of a Christian faith. Unlike Baptism or Christening that only occurred once in a lifetime, communion is supposed to be practices for as long as one lives.
Holy communion or better known in churches all around the world as ‘The Eucharist’ or ‘The Lord’s Supper’ is a holy time of worship when one corporately come together as one body to remember and celebrate what Jesus did for the sake of the humankind.
Holy communion is often associated with the ‘passover’ story in the bible, and often is related to this verse in the bible:
“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the New Testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.” (1st Corinthians 11:23-24)
In other words, when we practice the Holy Communion, we are deemed to be accepted as part of Jesus Christ’s fellowship.
